Celebrate the Season of Small with the Basalt Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber launches a shop local campaign in support of local businesses

BASALT, CO: This winter you are invited to join the Basalt Chamber of Commerce for the Season of Small – a celebration of all that is local, small and beautiful. The Chamber wants to inspire you to support the small businesses that make this valley special by shopping local, dining local and investing local. There are many ways in which you can share the love and make the holidays just a little bit brighter this year. What better way than to find the perfect gifts for everyone on your list while showing the locally-owned restaurants, retailers and small businesses in our community just how much you care.

Between now and the new year, the Chamber will augment the marketing efforts of Basalt businesses by promoting holiday sales and special offers on local radio, newspapers, and online. Stay tuned for great deals!

“The Chamber is working hard to anticipate and meet the changing needs of our members during this challenging time. The Season of Small campaign aims to showcase our locally-owned businesses and the unique products and services they offer during this holiday season to encourage visitors and residents to shop local, explains Kris Mattera, Executive Director of the Basalt Chamber of Commerce, “Every local purchase keeps money in our community and gives back to our local businesses.”

The Chamber’s Season of Small campaign dovetails with other State efforts to encourage support for local businesses, many of which continue to struggle due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Choosing to buy local, even for something as small as a cup of coffee, can mean the world to a small business feeling the negative economic impacts of COVID-19.

If you are a small business and want to leverage the opportunity to promote your business this holiday season visit our website and tell us about your holiday offer (details:

Everyone in Colorado is encouraged to participate in the campaign by posting on social media and using the hashtag #ShopLocalColorado. Small businesses can also print out flyers to put up around neighborhoods and shops, and update their cover photo by accessing the #ShopLocalColorado Social Media Toolkit
