The chamber has some exciting news! Our current wonderful landlords Z-Group Architects —who are also Chamber members—are doing well and need the space we currently occupy to further grow the business. We are thrilled to see their growth as we embark on a search for the Chamber’s new long-term headquarters.
This move gives us a strategic opportunity to find a space perfectly tailored to serve our membership and visitors for years to come.
How you can help – insider knowledge
We’ve explored the existing commercial real estate options with no luck, so we are seeking non-MLS leads, private listings and vacant spaces that may not be publicly advertised. Do you own, manage, or know about an upcoming vacancy that would be a great fit for us? Do you have an extra space that could be put to good use by the chamber? Do you need a commercial roommate or could benefit from a partnership that includes foot traffic during the summer months? Let us know.
Our Needs & Wish List

Timing: Our current lease runs through the end of February 2026, so chamber staff would ideally like to transition spaces before then (although there may be some flexibility here). We are also open to interim solutions if the perfect long-term space isn’t ready yet.

Location: High preference for Historic Downtown in a high-traffic area (street level or second story), with all areas of Basalt considered. NOTE: The chamber’s operations satisfies the Town of Basalt’s C-2 Downtown Business District “vitality zone” requirements, as both a non-profit and a visitors center. ADA access preferred so that we can best assist visitors to Basalt who may have accessibility and mobility needs.

Size & Function: We are a staff of two, so approximately 450-500 square feet is ideal, including a small reception/front desk area, some storage, and an office for the President & CEO with a closing door, plus necessary amenities like HVAC and an onsite bathroom (all of which are missing in the Red Caboose).

Budget: We are currently paying $1,410/month and would not like to exceed **$2,000/month**.

Terms: We are primarily seeking a long-term lease, but are open to creative and non-traditional arrangements, including purchase options if the space is a perfect fit for the chamber’s future needs. We also recognize that the ideal next office space may not be available right away and are open to shorter-term (1 year) solutions as a transitional option. 
We are excited and ready for this new chapter and look forward to building our next foundation right here in Basalt.
