Business Profile
Most common industries in Eagle County (2018)
Source: State Demographer’s Office. Industry definitions [PDF]
Basalt is located in two counties – Pitkin and Eagle – with the majority of businesses located in Eagle. The information below is specific to Eagle County, which is predominately centered around the Vail area; the Roaring Fork Valley area of the county represents a smaller portion of the total county. Eagle County data is focused on the economic epicenter of the county – Vail; however Pitkin County’s economic epicenter is Aspen, so both counties are skewed by the ski resorts and the tourism that is driven by those areas.
Basalt’s industry mix is more diversified, however it is challenging to find reports at such a granular level.
