2023-2024 Parachute to Aspen Non-Profit Giving Guide
December 5th is Colorado Gives Day!
In 2019 seven nonprofit entities based in the Roaring Fork Valley joined together to grow and market Colorado Gives Day throughout the region. This year the membership has grown to over 80 nonprofits from Parachute to Aspen that are committed to improving the lives of people who live, work and play in our communities. Our coalition of nonprofits has launched a regional campaign called Mountain West Gives to strengthen local participation in the statewide Colorado Gives Day effort. Our goal this year is to raise over One Million Dollars among all 81 organizations during this campaign.
Colorado Gives Day is hosted by Community First Foundation and powered by ColoradoGives.org, a year-round website featuring more than 1,800 nonprofits, statewide. ColoradoGives.org encourages charitable giving by providing comprehensive, objective and up-to-date information about Colorado nonprofits and an easy way to support them online.
With generous support from The Sopris Sun, el Sol del Valle, FirstBank of Glenwood Springs, Garfield County Board of County Commissioners, and others, we are partnering with the Community First Foundation to encourage philanthropy in Garfield, Pitkin, and Western Eagle Counties.
Colorado Gives Day is more than just a day- it’s a movement!
So don’t forget to give where you live on Colorado Gives Day, December 5, 2023!

Holy Cross Energy
Spread holiday cheer with three simple acts of kindness! Over the years, Holy Cross Energy has supported our local communities, members, and families through your generous donations. Join us in donating to our Holiday Toy Drive, Round-Up, and visit us at our local grocer, City Market, where Holy Crossers are ringing the bell for the Salvation Army. Together, we can make this season brighter for everyone.
Last year, thanks to your contributions to the Toy Drive, families received toys to make the holidays just a little more joyous. This year, Holy Cross Energy in partnership with Catholic Charities, is asking for donations of any new, unused toys to be dropped off at our Glenwood Springs or Avon offices by December 7 at 5 p.m. In addition to children’s toys, we are also seeking gifts for teens (like journals, hair/makeup, and gaming accessories) and gifts for seniors (like toiletry products and books).
“Round-Up” your bill for community members in need. A little change can make a big difference. By rounding up your electric bill to the nearest dollar (or more!), you can help support local families and the organizations that serve them. We’ll match every cent you contribute to make your gift go even further.
If you feel festive and have some spare change to give, visit us at our local grocer, City Market, in Glenwood Springs on December 13th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Holy Cross staff will be bell ringing and celebrating the spirit of the holidays. The money dropped in a red kettle returns directly to our local community.
