BASALT, Co. — Basalt Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Western Slope based Triad EAP to offer Chamber members a discounted rate for comprehensive employee assistance program services for employees and their families. Services include confidential mental health counseling with local therapists who offer in-person and telehealth sessions, financial and legal consultations, and benefits to support organizations impacted by conflict or tragedy.

“Promoting mental wellness in the workplace leads to a healthier, more productive work environment,” said Amy Weitzel, Vice-President of Development at Triad EAP. “Our partnership with the Basalt Chamber of Commerce is one solution to the rising costs of mental healthcare in the mountain regions.”

A Colorado Health Access Survey showed more than half of respondents reported rising costs as their most significant barrier to accessing mental healthcare. Triad offers Chamber members three free sessions through their network of credentialed, masters-level counselors so employees do not pay any out-of-pocket costs. Additionally, 43.1% of respondents didn’t seek mental healthcare over concerns about insurance coverage. Triad EAP is an add-on benefit that works directly with employers, thus bypassing the need for navigating insurance.

The CDC has cited a marked uptick in financial challenges, isolation, depression, substance abuse, domestic violence and suicidal ideation as fallout from the pandemic and natural disasters that have plagued 2020.
