Shape the future of tourism in Basalt

Calling all Basalt area residents and businesses – Give your feedback on tourism

The Basalt Chamber of Commerce is developing its first tourism strategic plan in partnership with the Colorado Tourism Office (CTO) and the Destination Blueprint Program. Your participation is invaluable to the future of tourism management in Basalt and the midvalley. This critical work is part of our CTO Destination Blueprint effort, which is funded to assist Colorado destinations with strategic planning and recovery. To build a balanced plan that ensures sustainable growth and protects our quality of life, we need to hear from you. This is your opportunity to be heard – Data informed decision making is only possible if we have DATA!

Our Goal: Destination Stewardship

Our work follows the Colorado Tourism Office’s framework for destination stewardship, focusing on three core goals to build a resilient and welcoming community:

  • Balance quality of life for residents with quality experiences for visitors.
  • Support and protect our natural, cultural, and community assets.
  • Ensure Basalt remains welcoming and sustainable for all.

For more details on the grant and our stewardship commitment, read our blog.

We can’t do this without you!

As a thank you, respondents can enter into a drawing to win a $250 gift card to a chamber member of your choice and 2 passes to Iron Mountain Hot Springs.

Your input will help shape the Basalt Chamber’s Destination Blueprint strategic plan – a collaborative plan to guide thoughtful, sustainable tourism for years to come. There will be interactive elements and light refreshments.

Tourism Industry Stakeholders

If you’re a local business owner or an industry professional in the tourism industry*, please also complete this survey. The survey is designed to help the Basalt Chamber of Commerce create a feedback loop with local tourism-related businesses to understand their strengths, outlook, barriers, and priorities.
