Enjoy Winter in Basalt

Basalt – Where Life Flows

Welcome to Basalt – an authentic Colorado mountain town with access to the best our state has to offer. Basalt’s rich history began in the pioneering days of the West as a railroad town, during the silver mining boom. Fertile soil and a temperate climate made it possible to farm the land, and many working ranches and farms persist. Today, Basalt still remains true to its roots with its small-town charm and down-to-earth atmosphere. It is a vibrant place where artists, restaurateurs, entrepreneurs, ranchers, teachers, and families find unparalleled work-life balance in the postcard they call home.
